In the spring of 1942, twelve American women joined together
to assist U.S. servicemen stationed in Curaçao. They
called themselves the “Helping Hand Club”. Many
years have passed since those early days. Today, the American
Women’s Club of Curaçao continues to extend a “helping
hand” through philanthropic and social activities, and
the resulting bonds of friendship and respect have grown and
flourished.
